HOW TO FIND REGULAR OVULATION DATE

Ovulation date is the day at which an egg is released from the ovaries.

Menstruation cycle is ( 21-35 days), it varies for each woman, average is 28 days.

Menstruation cycle is divided in to 3 phases depending on the changes in the follicles of ovaries( Ovarian cycle) and or changes in the endometrial lining of the uterus( Uterine cycle).

When you see the red bleeding ie on the first day of your period, you are said to be in Follicular Phase. Estrogen and Progesterone levels decrease causing the lining of the uterus to shed.Follicular phase may vary women to women and may be very long.During Follicular phase your body produce GnRH ( Gonadotropin releasing hormone). It gives message to produce FSH ( Follicile Stimulating hormone). FSH signals your body to start the process of maturing eggs for ovulation. The eggs are contained inside a follicle where they grow and mature until ovulation occurs. As the eggs grow the folliciles enlarge and produce estrogen. High levels of estrogen in your body triggers release of LH ( Luteinizing hormone). This is called LH Surge. When this happen, it causes the mature egg to burst from the follicle. This is called Ovulation.Normally only one egg will be large enough to burst through the follicle during ovulation. After your ovulate, you begin what is known as Luteal phase( second half of your cycle).Luteal phase is about always 14days .

Subtract 14 days from the Length of your menstrual cycle to pinpoint Ovulation date.

Suppose your period started on 1st May 2015, and your average menstrual cycle is 28 days. Then Your Ovulation date will be 1+14= 15 May 2015.

In case if your menstrual cycle is 30 days, Your Ovulation date will be 30-14=16. 1st May + 16= 17th May 2015.

If your menstrual cycle is 24 days, Your Ovulation date will be 24-14=10. 1st May +10= 11th May 2015.

You should also check the rise in Body Basal temperature which is another sign you will experience on day of ovulation . Increase in Cervical Mucus, Softening and opening of cervix, ovulation pain etc are to be considered to confirm ovulation.

Once you confirm your ovulation date, and if your intention is to do the sex for conception , conduct it immediately on the same day itself, as the ovum lives just 24hours. Ideally intercourse should occur before ovulation( 3-5 days before ovulation) so that sperm can greet the ovulation egg immediately. Semen can live in female reproductive tract up to 5 days.
