In India Tradition Fire ( or Dipam) is sacred.
Actually the oxidation happening in our body is akin to Fire. We cannot stop oxidation; we cannot stop the fire.

Fire will make us fresh and free from the present moment and liberate our soul. It helps the departed soul not to get over any residual attachment of the deceased person.
Fire can happen only in present moment
Water can be kept in the past and used in the present moment.
But fire has to be only in the present moment.
Fire is always new and fresh
