On a School annual day celebration (in a school in India), a famous film actor was invited to the school for the program to address a speech to the students. Do you know what he said? “If children want to become a Film Actor, go for it! If they want to become Doctor, Engineer or a Bureaucrat, strive to the utmost to achieve that. Parents should not burden children to choose only high profession. What is wrong in becoming a film actor.” The teachers, Principal and all students applauded his speech and were praising by clapping. I was but stunned by this ignorance. So I thought to dash off a blog with a confidence that at least some teachers or students may get enlightened in this topic of discussion .

It is not education, hard work, good luck or astute human relation, though those all-important, the one factor that seemed to transcend all the rest embodies is the “Sense of Righteousness”

While education is important, what we choose to fight for with that Knowledge is also equally important.

Guru Dronacharya imparted his wisdom to both Pandavas and Kauravas, but both groups equally fought on opposite sides.Hence even though their education was similar, their moral compass ultimately decided the path they would choose. In the end, however ,it was a combination of Pandava’s Education & Sense of Rightenousness that led to their victory.

So focus on “Sense of Righteousness” not just knowledge or education

Ishopanishad says : He who worships ignorance enters in to darkness, and he who worships knowledge , who delights in knowledge alone, enters in to greater darkness. So  Upanishad says one will enter greater darkness who delight only in Knowledge. Why this statement is made??? Reason is the mere intellectual knowledge cannot take one to Supreme Being and no verbal acrobatics can ever lead one to self-realization.
