This is an antioxidant. Its speciality is, it is produced by our own body. Second speciality is, it is both water and fat soluble. All other antioxidants are either water or fat soluble. For example, Vitamin C is an antioxidant which is only water soluble. Vitamin E is an antioxidant which is only fat soluble. But ALA (Alpha Lipoic Acid) is both water and fat soluble. So it can work with every cells in the body.

ALA raises the level of GLUTATHIONE which is an another potent antioxidant that our body makes. It decreases with age. 

ALA and Glutathione can slow down skin aging, reduce blood sugar levels, reduce inflammation and improve nerve function.

Thin Bottom Line: Selenium is needed for glutathione activity. So by increasing selenium, you can increase glutathione.
